Kirk Amyx is a San Francisco Bay Area native and a graduate, with distinction, of the
Art Center College of Design
. Married to a graphic designer, and the son of a fine artist, he has been surrounded by art and design his entire life. This is reflected in his photography through a balanced approach of refined technique and creative vision.

Working with light and composition to create dynamic still-life images, Kirk has been producing photography for the San Francisco advertising and design communities for more than 15 years. Paying special attention to the quality of light, which he feels is the essence of the photo, Kirk will utilize a variety of styles or techniques to best convey the mood or message of each image.

Known as a perfectionist who pays close attention to detail, Kirk has grown to love the powerful tools of digital photography and imaging. An early adopter of the new technology, Kirk has been on the cutting edge of the transition to digital photography. Known as a leader in the field, Kirk also teaches an annual Photoshop workshop to other photographers at the prestigious Santa Fe Workshops, and is a part-time faculty member at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
