Amyx Photography produces dynamic product and still-life images for the Advertising and Design communities. Owner Kirkman Amyx is known for his use of bold compositions, refined lighting, and expert digital imaging skills. After 20 years of servicing technology and food clients out of his San Francisco studio, he recently relocated to Placer County where he is professor of photography at Sierra College.

A photographer since a child, Kirk studied commercial photography at the Art Center College of Design, where he received a BFA with distinction, and later earned an MFA in Fine Art from San Jose State University. Known for his patience and attention to detail, he brings to his images a balance of refined technical finesse combined with a sensitive eye towards light and composition.

In addition to his commercial work of Amyx Photography, Kirk explores art projects that conceptually investigate our relationship to change and the passage of time. When not busy with his teaching and personal projects, Kirk accepts commissions from select commercial and non-profit clients.
